Where to begin? After a season where the Mariners improved their record by 24 games, GM Jack Zduriencik was nowhere near done. With the additions of Cliff Lee and Chone Figgins, and the contract extension for Felix Hernandez, the Mariners are primed to be contenders for years to come. But, can they make the jump from good story in 2009 to true contenders in 2010?
The Maple Street Press Mariners Annual 2010 has all the information Mariners fans need to answer that question and more. Edited by Dave Cameron of U.S.S. Mariner, and featuring some of the best writers from the web and print, the Annual goes beyond the national preview magazines to offer 128 pages focused solely on the Mariners. In addition to in-depth analysis of the 2010 team, the Annual covers the Mariners farm system, and even looks back at the club's history, including:
- Pitch-by-pitch scouting reports, with information provided by Inside Edge, detail what to expect from Mariners hitters and pitchers.
- How Zduriencik has changed the Mariner culture, and where they may go from here.
- A Pitch-f/x look at just why Cliff Lee is so good.
- An in-depth, one-on-one interview with Mariners manager Don Wakamatsu.
- An even more detailed analysis of just why defense is so important.
- A breakdown of how Chone Figgins is a star despite his limitations.
- How did King Felix harness his potential? U.S.S. Mariner was involved.
- A look at the amazing Ichiro, arguably as good last year as hes ever been.
- The most in-depth look at the Seattle farm system, complete with the top ten prospects, stats, and a profile on Dustin Ackley.
- Go back to the first days of the Mariners with someone who was there, former GM Lou Gorman.
- And no Mariners Annual would be complete without making the (valid) case that Edgar Martinez belongs in the Hall of Fame.
That just scratches the surface of what you'll find in the first ever Maple Street Press Mariners Annual. Check out the table of contents below for more great articles and authors.

| It was an absolute pleasure to read. I can safely say that hadn't I had any classes today, I would've gladly just read, and re-read the annual. It unleashed that "inner-baseball-geek" within me, and got me fired-up and all giddy for the 2010 season. 2 Thumbs Up for all the writers of this beautiful, beautiful annual. Go M'S! |
